Rectangular, except where broken.
Lines not trodden for fear of bears,
but hard enough for tears.
Or laughter.  Or even something spoken.

Perfect platforms for colour, motion,
Pathways to pain and pleasure.  
Frames for private pictures, 
littered with emotion.

Measured beats to mental music.
Meant to move us: noisy, magic.
